Bagan and Mandalay
Bagan
This city is known as the city of the 3000 temples. Of course I didn't count it but seems like a lot of temple, going through the countryside.
It will be good to take a bike or motorbike to get through the city.
Because it's divided in 3 city : Old Bagan all the temples are, Nyang U for cheap sleep, and New bagan for nice restaurants and Hotels.
Most of them are ruins, but during the 9th to 13th century Bagan was a very big city, and everybody was building is own temple, so little one was for poor people and others rich.
That a nice city so, and you have to take time there to see the sunset and sunrise over those temples.
I have taken a bike and has been a lovely time over there. But seems a lot of tourists and too much people around temples. But take your time over there !!
Still very hot here and refreshing at night !!
Mandalay
Mandalay is now a city like Yangon, a big city, and nothing lot to offer. But I had taken a Motorbike Driver to see the city.
If you stay more than 2 days, you will see most of the landscape and that beautiful.
Since Bagan, I have been with 2 swiss Nelson and Laura, doing a world tour for 1 year.
So we did the tour in mandalay and we see first the U Bein Bridge. It's a Teak Bridge, the longer in the world they said. 1.2km that a long one. It's very long one, and when you walk on it, well don't be scared because the wood seems not well any more !!
Then we get to a temple With big buddhas. Then to Mahamuni Pagoda, which is the most attraction to myanmar. It's a Buddha, that people has put so much gold on it that it's seem a Fat buddha !!!
But only gold on it !!
Then we visit a monastery only in teak, then a shop that show you how gold leaf are made. Beautiful time over.
Then after a long day, that have been wonderful to see Mandalay this way.
Mandalay, is not a really good city to see, but if you take motorbike driver, you will have a good time in there.
